2008 Jazz in June Tours of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Gardens

Join the Jazz in June garden tours at 6 p.m. on the east side of Sheldon Museum of Art. The tours, which take about 30 minutes, are free and informative.

June 3

Amy Alderman, Landscape Services Landscape Assistant, and Andee Harter, Landscape Services Landscape Supervisor, will give a tour of Love Garden, the large perennial display gardens at the entrance to City Campus. They will discuss plants that are in bloom at this time as well as perennial care and maintenance.

June 10

Kay Logan-Peters, Professor of University Libraries/Architecture Librarian, will give an architectural tour of the original UNL campus area from 10th to 12th, R St. to T St. Buildings she will discuss are Architecture Hall, Brace Hall, Richards Hall, College of Business Administration and then back to the Sheldon area.

June 17

Eileen Bergt, Director and Landscape Architect-Landscape Services, and Jeff Culbertson, East Campus Landscape Manager, will give a tour of campus; it will include interesting perennials, shrubs and trees. We will also have a Scavenger Hunt for the children and their parents.

June 24

Karen Janovy, Curator of Education at the Sheldon Museum of Art, will take visitors on a tour of favorite sculptures in Sheldon's outstanding garden collection. Those joining the tour on the front steps of the Sheldon will determine highlights to be covered.
